  • Description

The Doge's Palace is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating monuments to be found in the Lagoon City. Built in 1340, the building housed the residence of the Doge (the leader of the Republic of Venice) and the Venetian administration. Between its walls were concentrated the judicial, legislative and executive powers, as well as a prison under its eaves, where the famous Casanova would have once been held.

The appearance of the Palace has changed over the centuries in part due to several successive fires. The original castle gradually evolved over time to become the Gothic inspired structure that stands today.

Your pass for the magnificent Doge's Palace also includes three museums of your choosing from the list detailed below in the "good to know" section.

It's a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Venice through its rich collections of works of art and historical objects.

    Good to know

The Doge's Palace is open from April 1st to October 31st from 8:30 am to 7 pm and from November 1st to March 31st from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

In addition to visiting the Doge's Palace, you're free to choose up to three more museums from the following list of ten:

    - Museo Correr
    - Archaeological Museum
    - The Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana
    - The Ca'Rezzonico
    - Palazzo Mocenigo
    - The House of Carlo Goldoni

Once you have the ticket, you can have access to other museums by presenting the ticket at the entrance, without having to queue again at the ticket offices. If you wish to collect the ticket at the Doge's Palace, please remember to go to the 'Ticket Office Groups Only' desk: you must respect the possible waiting times, that are usually shorter compared to the waiting times at the other desks. Anyway, we suggest you to collect your ticket in one of the other museums included in the Museum Pass since they have less visitors than the Doge's Palace and therefore the waiting times are usually reduced.

You will need to print your voucher and show it to the agent at the ticket offices.

In addition, please note that ticket's validity starts from the moment of collection at the ticket office ofthe first museum you are going to visit, even if it's not on the date indicated on the voucher

Doge's palace was a great visit. And we're thankful we didn't have to wait. Worth the money.
