  • Description

With our "direct entry" ticket, head straight for the security gates without the need to queue at the counters. This ticket includes access to the temporary exhibitions as well as the roof of the building, from where you can take in the expansive and breath-taking views of the City of Light.

Inaugurated in 1977, the Georges Pompidou National Centre for Art and Culture was slow to gain acceptance by local residents, with its unique architecture in stark contrast to the rest of the city. Since then, with nearly 100,000 pieces of art in its collection, the building has become one of the spearheads of Parisian culture, making it one of the three most important centres for modern and contemporary art in the world.

The building, a work of art in itself, hosts the work of world famous artists like Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Vassily Kandinsky, to name but a few. Sculptures, paintings, graphic and plastic arts, photography and architecture all intertwine in this impressive space covering nearly 45,000 m².

    Don't forget your camera!

A splendid and highly interesting museum to visit. Lots of art to admire and analyze, provided you're interested in modern art. Strongly recommended.
