What you can expect

On the day of your visit, please be at the meeting point 30 minutes before the tour's scheduled departure time. The Accademia is one of the two most prominent art galleries in Florence with over 1.4 million people visiting it in 2016. Thanks to your skip-the-line ticket you will enter through the priority access thus avoiding the long queues at the entrance. Once inside your guide will explain everything about the paintings and sculptures present in the gallery. The gallery is divided into seven different zones spread over two floors. You will get the chance to admire a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists, mostly from the period 1300-1600, including the Trecento (14th century) right up to the Late Renaissance. You will be taken to see the centrepiece of the gallery: Michelangelo's David, a statue he created with the goal of reproducing the perfect embodiment of man. Made of marble and at nearly five metres tall it is just one of those sculptures that needs to be experienced in person.
