Descend into the depths of Paris, leaving the City of Light behind in order to discover the catacombs, an underground cemetery unequalled anywhere else in the world. You'll be embarking on a 2-hour guided tour to learn more about this labyrinth filled to the brim with human bones.
Created in the 18th century for public health reasons, the catacombs of Paris are very mysterious, one would say almost mystical! They contain the bones of nearly six million Parisians, and these are stacked to create amazing works of art distributed throughout the different galleries.
It’s an underground world that seems to have forgotten about time itself. Don't worry though, you’ll be in the company of our expert-guide for the duration of the visit. Additionally, your skip-the-line ticket will allow you to avoid the long queue that forms every day at the entrance to the site. You will also have the precious opportunity to discover many underground galleries that are inaccessible without the presence of an expert guide. You’ll get to see the Décures Sculptures, the Sacellum Crypt and the Tomb of Gilbert!
In order to protect this hallowed place, only a small number of visitors are allowed to visit the catacombs at any one time. This is one of the best ways to discover the deep and mysterious galleries buried beneath the capital as well as the millennial history of the former city inhabitants that are buried there.

Step 2 - Go to the Catacombs
Your meeting point with your guide is just in front of the entrance to the Catacombs, at 1 avenue Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy, in Paris’ 14th district. To get there, go to Denfert Rochereau station (Metro lines 4 and 6 and RER Line B) and take exit number 1.
Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled time of your visit.
Please be aware that there are neither toilets nor cloakrooms in the catacombs.
The catacombs are unfortunately not accessible to people with physical disabilities due to the steep steps both at the entrance and the exit to the site.
This guided tour is not recommended for children and people with heart or respiratory problems, nor anyone suffering from anxiety attacks and/or claustrophobia.
All sales are final and, unfortunately, no refunds can be given.
