Musandam Peninsula boat trip

Take advantage of your stay in Dubai to visit the beautiful Musandam Peninsula. Part of the Sultanate of Oman and located to the north of the United Arab Emirates, this enclave contains some surprising geological features. Its chiselled mountains almost engulfed by the sea are the result of the tectonic activity and pressures exerted by the meeting of the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates.

The slow grinding of these plates, which contributed to the creation and rise of the Iranian mountains on the other side of the Gulf, are ever-so-slowly slowly dragging the Musandam Peninsula underwater. Although the peaks are still very clearly visible, its various valleys have slipped under water, creating a raw and unique landscape between sea and sky.
