Discover St. Peter's Basilica at the heart of the Vatican, the most important building in the Roman Catholic world.

Built in the early 16th century on the site of the Circus of Caligula and Nero, where the first pilgrims came to worship St. Peter, the Basilica is now the largest church anywhere in the world. This holy place is home to the tomb of St. Peter, the first pope in history. The Basilica was carefully decorated by the greatest painters of the time, including Raphael and Michelangelo.

Make sure to download the "Vox City" application before your visit in order to benefit from the audio guide commentary. (Available in eleven different languages.)
With this app, you'll be free to visit this sacred place at your own pace and get information on thirty-one different points of interest located throughout the church, including the Chair of St. Peter and Michelangelo's famous marble statue, the Pietà.
