Leave Paris for the day to discover the world-famous champagne region. You'll get to visit both the Mumm and Mercier wineries where you'll be able to sample their wares and learn about one of France's most famous exports: the ubiquitous bubbly! On the way, you'll get to visit Notre-Dame Cathedral in Reims and discover the iconic church where so many of France's kings were crowned.
On this tour, you get to visit two world-class wineries and taste some delicious champagne! The tour leaves from central Paris. First stop is Reims, a ninety-minute scenic drive from the capital. Reims is the unofficial capital of the Champagne wine-growing region. It occupies a special place in French history. For more than a thousand years, it is here that the future Kings of France were crowned at Reims' Notre-Dame Cathedral. You'll get to tour this gothic masterpiece while learning about the important role it played in the history of the French monarchy.
Next stop is the world-famous Mumm cellars where you'll get to taste their classic Cordon Rouge Champagne. You'll be taken on a cellar tour where you'll learn all about the champagne making process and the traditional methods they've been using for the last 200 years.
Following lunch* at Reims, it's on to Epernay, a scenic town on the banks of the Marne river. This is where the Mercier champagne winery and its historic cellars are located. It has been putting the bubbles in bubbly since 1858! You'll get to tour the vast underground cellars before getting to taste some of their delicious champagne.
It's then back to Paris by coach.
