  • Description

Take your time over three days to discover Milan Cathedral and its surroundings. Milan Cathedral's full name is the Basilica Cattedrale Metropolitana di Santa Maria Nascente (Metropolitan Cathedral-Basilica of the Nativity of Saint Mary).

Located at the Piazza del Duomo in the heart of old Milan, Milan Cathedral is dedicated to the Nativity of Mary and is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan. It took nearly six centuries to complete!

Milan Cathedral should be on everyone’s list while staying in Milan. It is the third largest church in the world after St. Peter's in Rome and Seville Cathedral in Spain. Il Duomo di Milano will amaze you with its grandeur and the beauty of its Gothic architectural style! From the Duomo’s rooftop terrace, built 50m above the ground and made using splendid Candoglia marble, you will be treated to magnificent panoramic views of the city spread out in front of you!

Continue your tour through the Grande Museo del Duomo, where you can not only admire its fabulous stained glass but also a large collection of works and liturgical objects dating from the fourteenth century that are displayed in no less than 27 different rooms!

Finally, put on your explorer’s cap to visit the archaeological ruins of the Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti and the Basilica di Santa Tecla!
